Long Distance Movers: Options To Consider.
Moving to another state and need long distance movers? Before you start calling for quotes, here's a quick guide to the best and most affordable long-distance moving options—what each really means, who it's best for, and where American National Movers fits in.
Quick Answer: Cheapest vs. Fastest vs Most Predictable Options:
Cheapest → Shared‑load.
Share a truck with another customer for a low long distance moving cost and flexible pick up and delivery date.
Fastest → Dedicated truck.
Have high-value furniture and prefer a dedicated truck to greatly reduce the risk of damage and lost items? or maybe you prefer a guaranteed delivery date for the convenience. Ask your long distance movers if they provide the option for a dedicated truck
Best balance → Expedited shared‑load.
if you can't afford the costs for a guaranteed delivery date and a dedicated truck, another option to consider is a shared truck with an expedited delivery. The expedited shipment charges costs an additional $1,500 on top of the average of $3,000 for a shared load.
No Hidden Costs →Flat Rate Moving.
Getting a guaranteed price on your move is one of the best decisions you can make to avoid the common issue of estimate increases with movers. Ask your long distance movers if they provide the option for a flat rate. If they do, make sure you get it in writing to make sure its legit.
American National Movers Long Distance Moving Options
American National Movers offers all of the options mentioned above at reasonable rates, not exorbitant prices. Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Our Shared Load Moving Option.
People who are moving a small load long distance, love our shared load moving option because you pay for only the space you on a truck. As a result the costs for shared load moving can be as low as $3,000—sometimes less or more, depending on the size of your load and mileage of your relocation.
Expedited Shared‑Load (Faster Without Private‑Truck Pricing)
Expediting your shipment leaves you with the option to still share your load for a cheaper price, but to speed up the delivery. However, when expediting your shipment we can't provide a guaranteed delivery date, but a quicker turn around 3-5-days.
Dedicated Truck / Direct Delivery (Fastest & Most Predictable)
Many long distance moving companies do not provide the option for a dedicated truck service because they don't have drivers willing to drive direct. But American National Movers does. With our direct shipping option, we provide same-day delivery for hauls within 600 miles, 2-day delivery for hauls within 1,000 miles, and 3-5 days for hauls exceeding 1,500 miles.
Flat‑Rate Long Distance Moving Option.
It is wise to ask your movers if they offer a flat rate, also known as a binding 'not to exceed' quote, to avoid unexpected price changes. Otherwise, you risk being charged a couple thousand more on move day if your estimate was off—especially if you hired shady movers.
